- Turn a case into a narration and dialogue (Students become a character.)
- One hour/year: All employees discuss ethics issues
- Sponsor an Ethics Film Festival: students create films for a contest. Give cash prizes.
- Sponsor an Ethics Bowl.
- Faculty write cases pertinent to their area.
- Students discuss:
What do you need to know to respond to this case?
What would you do if _______ changed? - Everyone discusses the ethics code/academic integrity policy during the first week of classes.
- Have students interview someone in their field (on the outside) concerning ethics issues.
- Develop panels on an ethics-related topic.
- Use films with ethics questions in them.
- Sponsor a “leadership” expo. Use as a vehicle for discussing principles/standards, etc.
- Sponsor an essay contest—kicked off by a renowned speaker on the ethics topic to be explored in the essay. Give cash prizes.
- Ask leaders in a field to share practices, dilemmas, etc. that come from their experiences with ethics situations.
- Have a businessperson describe a real life ethics situation. Audience asks for clarifications, etc. Students, then, in groups determine what their reaction/resolution would be. Students share their response. Businessperson explains what he/she actually did in the situation and why.
